College Humour: 'Galactic State of Mind'
This spoof of 'Empire State of Mind' is possibly my all-time favourite Star Wars spoof, so it's a good place to start. Super witty, fantastically written, and having a hyper-hottie Princess Leia doesn't hurt either. Great fun all the way. Break dancing storm-troopers? Shape-throwing Chewie? Strutting Boba Fett? Uber-camp C3PO doing 'the robot' dance badly (ironically?)? All present and correct. As a new-ish father myself, my favourite line has to be 'Daddy Powers: Activate", but for sheer comedy happiness, look no further than the reflection on poor Porkins' fate. "What happened to the fat guy?" Happy times. Less so for Porkins ....

I bloody loves Star Wars, me.
I'm in my 30s years old and grew up with it as a kid; the kid in me loves it still and, doubtless, my kid will enjoy it when he's old enough ... Plenty of other people love it too, and there must be thousands of different takes on different scenes from the films strewn across the internet. This journey, from a low-budget sci-fi flick in the late 1970s, to one of the most culturally recognisable and often referenced film in cinema history nearly forty years later, is pretty remarkable. And the spoofs and memes are getting bigger and better all the time. This blog is simply an attempt to record some of the best of them. Enjoy!
